HOW TO REGISTER FOR SCUML (EFCC) CERTIFICATE

Having established what a SCUML is and the statutory provisions for it (Legality of SCUML (EFCC) Certificate; Persons That Must Obtain SCUML (EFCC) Certificate; Again, the EFCC Lacks Power Over Lawyers Bank Accounts; A Lawyer’s Bank Account is Exempted from EFCC, SCUML, NFIU and Police Registration/Clearance), this publication will divulge the steps in successfully obtaining a SCUML certificate!
First visit https://scuml.org/registration2/and fill in the following details;
- Name of incorporation/Business name to be registered
- CAC type i.e type of CAC incorporation be it business name, company limited by shares, incorporated trustee etc
- RC No or BN Number (registered company or business name number on your Certificate of Incorporation from CAC)
- Date of Company’s Registration
- TIN Number
- Company’s Trade Name (Not mandatory)
- DNFI Category (Designated Non-Financial Institutions)
- BVN (Bank Verification Number)
- Company Account Number
- Bank Name
- Brief Description of Business (Not Mandatory)
- Head Office Address
- State
- Phone Number
- JTB No (Taxpayer ID No) (Not Mandatory)
- Branch Office(s) Address (Physical Address)
- Website/URL (Not Mandatory)
- Director’s Name
- Director’s Name (2) (If Applicable)
- Director’s Name (3) (If Applicable)
- Upload of all documents in support of the information already submitted (not exceeding 2mb and in pdf format all in one document)
- Indication of Preferred Nearest SCUML Office to pick your certificate.
- Email Address & Password for login details to the SCUML portal
- Contact Person for The Organization (Name, Email address and phone number) note that such a person must be one of the management staff of the organization.
Note that once all of this is completed and filled it is advised that you or your legal representative constantly contact SCUML sensitization & public outreach desk on phone (08186886219 or 08183754112) or Via Email: helpdesk@scuml.org for information on the status of your application. You will then go to an EFCC SCUML office with your legal representative where you will be briefed on anti-money laundering laws and various relevant SCUML policies, after which your certificate will be issued to you.

The provision for non-governmental organisations currently registered with the State Government ,are there any strict limitations that these should not open bank accounts ?
Ours is non -governmental organisation with focus on education,disadvantaged youths ,poor ,homeless and vulnerable rural dwellers ,etc .
