Unlike before and to avoid denial of confessions, where a suspect wishes to voluntarily confess to any crime, such MUST be recorded in writing and may be recorded electronically via video compact disc or any other similar means. My authorities are sections 15(4), 15(5), 494 and 495 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015 and other similar laws across States in Nigeria.
