Unlike before, there is now an established Central Criminal Records Registry at the Nigerian Police Force. Also, each State Police Command must have a Criminal Registry, keep and transmit all records from same to the Central Criminal Records Registry.

My authorities are sections 16(1), 16(2), 494 and 495 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015 and other similar laws across States in Nigeria.
